Poughkeepsie Middle School's student population reflects the community the school serves. Our students are 48 percent Black/African American, 35 percent Hispanic/Latino, 10 percent white and 8 percent Multi-Racial.

Our curriculum features a double literacy block, Eureka Math, sixth and seventh grade technology classes, Art, Music (band, chorus, instruments), Science, Social Studies, Living Environment Regents class and Algebra Regents class.

In addition, students have access to a STEM Lab and pool on campus.

Club, extracurricular and extended learning time opportunities include a Lego Club, COLORS, Nubian Directions and Poughkeepsie Farm Project.

We also use a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program to encourage and reward good behavior.
